MAN Lion's Explorer Bus

Over the past two years i have been extensively involved and lead the team of developers on redesigning the MAN Lion's Explorer bus. The major changes to this bus were focused on improving the windscreen failure problems as well as simplifying the interior dash board and several other other components. I also introduced a new steel sub frame to help better support the new design bus. This frame would not only help fulfill key functional areas but more importantly would become the key to helping the windscreen solution. i have added images of both the bus as well as the new steel frame with its extensive control jig i designed to help control its manufacture.

The Porto Loo Concept

Here i have a concept of a portable loo created for a local sanitary company. The design drive was focused on an upmarket or executive unit that would allow the potential user enough comfort space as well as full facility. The loo was also designed around a new smart vent concept i created using convection airflow to help aerate the unit. The refuse storage area also had to accommodate enough capacity to not require more frequent service cleaning. The design has succeeded in increasing this by an additional 15% above the standard unit. The design also focused on this unit being collapsible thus improving shipping cost as the customer could transport more stock in a standard truck. I have attached several images illustrating the general look and design of the unit.

Bell Equipment

Over the past three years i have been extensively involved with the development a new look and function Bell truck and even though this is a project that will still take some time to complete i feel it would be wrong not to make mention of my involvement with this dynamic company that has been willing to spend endless resources to not only create a more functional product that will serve their customers better but also that will finally be more appealing to the eye. i have attached several images of some of the vehicles i have been involved with for both Bell as well as an equally impressive John Deere.

New SUV Concept

This is a new concept design i am working on at the moment, the design drive is focused on giving this traditional military vehicle a more automotive feel without denying its raw presence. i have based a great deal of my design around larger pick-up trucks like the Ford F250 but also allowed the trucks traditional strong box lines to play an important role.

Below are several illustration showing the design evolution of an existing project. As this project moves i will add more illustrations. Below is the initial model provided by the client with a rough style and direction for future styling.

This is the first option, or initial concept. The purpose of this design was to get a better understanding of the clients styling needs and direction. A much smaller front nose and simpler grill configuration.

This is the latest version with a higher bonnet and largesr air intake at the front of the bonnet to accomodate a larger cooling pack.

The finished product still maintains the genral feel of the vehicle type but allows your imagination to appreciate its looks a little more.

This is a vending kart concept. The clients requirements was that the rear panel hinge outward to create a serving wall with counter and a tent to create shelter for the staff. The Kart was styled to suite the product allowing maximum exposure and advertisement.

Below are the various configurations of this kart in both transport mode and vending mode.

This is a conceptual design of a tractor, the main design focus was a new look bonnet that had to be steel and mudguards. Note that the steel bonnet is actually curved in its final form, a feat achieved after many long hours of tedious thinking and designing. The mudguards follow a simple curved steel option or a potential roto-moulded unit.

a Cash-in-Transit Concept. Client required vehicle to look like an Isuzu. I developed the bonnet, front bumper with bull-bar, headlights and rear wheel arches.

Concept van developed purely for style exercise.

Conceptual design of proposed office block.

a Concept house design, developed for small architectural firm.

A simple Wind blade with mounting pivot shaft.
These are a series of recycle bin concepts to be installed in places like airports, stadiums and other highly used public spaces. The main Focus on these concepts were to be visible enough to be noticed by patrons. Also Branding space needed to be at its maximum for advertising and other informational purposes. They also required different sizes and each bin to have two separate compartments. One for paper and the other for glass/plastic.
